Here at the Brian Frere Home Team HQ Fridays are CRAZY to say the least. We took a break from the craziness to sit down with our newest Buyer Specialist, Jason Burroughs. I had questions; he had answers. Enjoy!

So Jason, where are you from?

I was born in Lincoln Nebraska, but my family moved to Tulsa when I was about 5. I lived in Arizona for a brief period, but I am happy to say I call Tulsa home!!


You made the transition from Telecommunication Consulting, what was it about residential real estate that caused you to make a change?

I have always LOVED the idea of being in Real Estate! It has been a long-term dream of mine for years so I can now say that I am following my dreams… or that I’m in a dream… whichever is better!!


Alright, what are some unique challenges you’re seeing in the Tulsa market right now as an agent?

I am sure some of the challenges we face here in Tulsa aren’t unique to Tulsa. That said, buyers want to have an agent present so they have someone they can rely; someone to take them through the process. I think the biggest “challenge” is just the fact that not everyone understands the buying process and it can make for some confusion. I love guiding clients through the process!


What area in Tulsa would you consider your “Stomping Grounds?”

Jenks, Bixby and Tulsa… although I love all of Tulsa Metro!!


What’s your favorite ‘hood in Tulsa and why?

I would say Southeast Jenks. I love the mature trees and the fact that it isn’t in the heart of the grind but is still minutes from anything you need.


If you had to pick a home to live in forever and ever, what kind of house would it be?

Oh boy, this is a tough one. I would say a home just like the one the in the movie “Mr & Mrs. Smith!


Being newer to residential real estate, what are you looking forward to? What are you dreading?

Meeting so many new people and going on an adventure with them. Dreading is a strong word, but I do not look forward to “not” finding what they want.


Tell us a little bit about your perspective when it comes to serving your clients.

There really isn’t much that I won’t do for my clients to help them along the way. I would say the only caveat to that statement is that it MUST be LEGAL!


What words of wisdom do you often share with clients? What do clients often need to hear?

I always tell my clients, “let me do the work for you! Let me ask you the right questions so I know EXACTLY what you are looking for.” Taking the time to communicate and ask the right questions is paramount. I scour the MLS listings to find the right houses that match their criteria. It works when clients trust me because all they have to do is enjoy the ride and look at some homes.

Almost every client needs to be reassured that we will find what they want! It may not be the first home we look at, although that’s always the goal, but we will be on this journey together to find exactly what they want.


If you ever change careers for an encore you’ll…

I don’t think I will… this should be my last change. That being said I would really love to eventually own a jazz bar. I’ll save you a table when it opens!
